Auburn Washington

Auburn is a city in King County. According to the 2012 Census, there are about 73,500 people that live here. The city was incorporated in 1891. The area is 30.1 square miles making it 14th largest city in Washington. It is located between Seattle and Tacoma and is one of the oldest cities in Washington. Auburn is about 30 minutes from Seattle and about 20 minutes from Tacoma.

The business environment in the region is very sustainable. It is the center of the largest industrial complex in the whole northwest. This year, according to the Department of Commerce, it is one of 15 innovation partnership zones in Washington. There is continuous job expansion in the area as well as great retail growth. The city is also home to one of the Boeing plants that employs over 11,000 people.

The community is surrounded by Desmoines, Kent, Covington, Black Diamond, Enumclaw, Summer, and Federal Way. The city is an outdoorsman’s friend with over 28 parks, 23 miles of trails and over 246 acres of open land. There are two rivers dissecting the city—the White river and the Green river. The area is home to the Muckleshoot Indian reservation which owns the largest casino in the northwest.
